Clinics & Services at Croston

Further information regarding any of the services listed below can be obtained by contacting the practice reception.

Heart Disease Prevention

Our practice nurse provides comprehensive health checks including smoking cessation, healthy eating, alcohol consumption, blood pressure checks, exercise advice and cholesterol screening.

Baby and Childhood Clinic 

We run a full vaccination and immunisation programme. Childhood immunisations are usually carried out in the child health clinic on Wednesday mornings between 9:00am - 10:00am.  For more information regarding this clinic please contact 01772 644765.

Minor Surgery 

Removal of warts, lumps and bumps and joint injections (see doctor first).

Vaccinations 

Holiday vaccinations and holiday advice arranged through the practice nurse.  All adults should ensure that they have had a tetanus and polio booster.  If in doubt check with the nurse.

Flu vaccinations are available each autumn for the elderly and those with heart or chest conditions in particular. 

Cervical Smears 

It is very important for all women between twenty and sixty five to have a cervical smear test every three to five years, dependent on age.  There are many stages of cervical cancer and if picked up early this is totally curable by simple treatment.  This is a painless check carried out by the practice nurse.

Family Planning 

Advice and services from the doctor or practice nurse including oral contraception, emergency contraception if necessary - chance to discuss all aspects of sexual health.

Antenatal Clinic 

Alternate Tuesday morning 09:00 – 10:30, run by the district midwife after booking with the doctor. The clinic will monitor your health during pregnancy and monitor the development of your unborn baby.

Phlebotomy Services (Blood Testing)

We provide a phlebotomy clinic every Thursday morning by appointment only.
